History

In 1868, Anton Weber founded a hardware store in the "Bären" house on Herrengasse in Schwyz. At the beginning of the 20th century, the company expanded its range of activities and began trading in heavy building materials. A first depot with railway connection was built in Seewen SZ. The company has continued to develop into today's group of companies.

    Rent of the first plot of land with a railway siding in Seewen and the first magazine in Seewen.

  • 1912

    The new owners are Melchior Weber-Diebold
    and Eugen Diebold-Weber.

    Melchior Weber is the sole owner

    Reinforcing steel bending shop in Seewen

    Construction of the "Eisenhof" in Seewen

  • 1951

    The new owner is Arthur Weber-Klein

  • 1967

    Opening of the bending shop and reinforcing steel warehouse on Militärstrasse in Schattdorf.

    Construction of the sanitary warehouse in Schattdorf and foundation of ARTHUR WEBER IMMOBILIEN AG

  • 1982

    Construction of the steel bar hall and the retail shop in Schattdorf

  • 1985

    The new owner is Arthur Weber-Elsener

  • 1990

    Takeover of Seeholzer AG, Küssnacht and opening of the Küssnacht retail shop in Chli Ebnet.

  • 1994

    Opening of new building Wintersried, Seewen

  • 1996

    Takeover of KAWEBA, Seewen

  • 2001

    The new owners are Christoph and Philipp Weber

  • 2005

    Takeover of Frischknecht, Lachen

  • 2008

    Change of the company name to Arthur Weber AG

  • 2009

    Takeover of PE Fabrikation AG in Lachen, takeover of Zehnder GA = Handwerkerzentrum Einsiedeln, takeover of Gysi in Baar

    Opening of the Steinhausen branch, takeover of the Pirosig company in Sursee

  • 2013

    All railing systems are now marketed under the InoxTech brand.

    Takeover of ERA Eggenschwiler AG in Jona, foundation of the metal construction planning department mbp Schwyz

    STARCH - the Swiss tool brand enters the market
